Angela Passalacqua was born and raised in suburban southwestern Ohio. Perhaps her grandfather’s tales of the ferocious beauty of his native Sicily, with volatile Mt. Etna, rocky shorelines, ample vineyards, and carriage racing instilled a yearning for coastal life. She moved West as soon as she could. After a brief stint in San Francisco, she wandered north and stumbled upon a place close to the sea, with vineyards nearby and an active volcano within sight. She settled for good in Portland, where she happily resides with her husband, two sons and Sheltie. The ideas behind her work are strongly rooted in literature and the age old questions of what makes us human, especially what elevates and nourishes the human spirit.
